  3. Butter: 2 Tablespoons
  4. Large Marshmallows: 10 ounces
  5. Rice Krispies Cereal: 7 cups
  6. Equipment Needed: Medium Saucepan, Big Mixing Bowl, Lined Cookie Sheet, Toothpick or Skewer

How to Make Caramel Marshmallow Rice Krispie Balls:

1. Prepare the Caramel Mixture:

  • In a medium saucepan, combine 14 ounces of caramels, 14 ounces of sweetened condensed milk, and 2 tablespoons of butter.
  • Cook this mixture over medium heat. Make sure to stir constantly to prevent any burning or sticking.
  • Continue cooking until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

2. Dip Marshmallows:

  • Once your caramel mixture is ready, use a toothpick or skewer to pick up each marshmallow.
  • Dip the marshmallow into the caramel mixture, ensuring it’s well-coated.
  • Gently tap the marshmallow to shake off any excess caramel.

3. Roll in Rice Krispies:

  • Pour the 7 cups of Rice Krispies into a big bowl.
  • After dipping the marshmallow in caramel, gently roll it in the Rice Krispies. Make sure the marshmallow is well-coated with the cereal.

4. Set on Cookie Sheet:

  • Carefully place each caramel and Rice Krispie-coated marshmallow on a cookie sheet that’s been lined with parchment paper.
  • Once placed, gently remove the toothpick or skewer from the marshmallow.

5. Let Them Set:

  • Allow the Caramel Marshmallow Rice Krispie Balls to set and harden for about 30 minutes.
