Ingredients

  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 8 oz white chocolate finely chopped
  • 0.125 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 drops pink food coloring

Equipment

  • 1 3-quart saucepan

Method

  1. Heat the milk in a 3-quart saucepan over medium-low heat for 4 to 6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until steaming but not boiling.
  2. Add the white chocolate and salt, then whisk constantly for 2 to 3 minutes, until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat, stir in the vanilla and pink food coloring, and whisk until the color is even.
  4. Pour into mugs and serve hot.

Notes

For the smoothest drink, finely chop the white chocolate so it melts evenly. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days; freezing is not recommended. For a dairy-free variation, use unsweetened plant milk and dairy-free white chocolate.
