Ingredients

  • 12 Nutter Butter cookies
  • 12 mini pretzel twists
  • 12 oz semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 24 candy eyes
  • 12 red candy-coated chocolates such as red M&M's

Equipment

  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 microwave

Method

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Break each pretzel twist in half to make 24 antler pieces, setting aside intact pieces.
  3. Put the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave at 50% power in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until smooth.
  4. Dip each cookie in the melted chocolate, let excess chocolate drip back into the bowl, and place it on the prepared baking sheet. While the coating is wet, add two pretzel pieces at the top for antlers, two candy eyes, and one red candy for the nose.
  5. Refrigerate for 15 to 20 minutes, until the chocolate is firm.

Notes

Add the decorations while the chocolate coating is still wet so they adhere. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days; freezer storage is suitable.
