Method
Make the centers
- Finely crush the Oreo cookies in a food processor.
- Transfer the crumbs to a large bowl.
- Add the cream cheese and beat with a hand mixer until evenly combined.
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Refrigerate for 1 hour, until firm.
Coat and decorate
- Melt the candy coating wafers in a microwave-safe bowl at 50% power in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until smooth.
- Dip each chilled ball in the melted coating, let the excess drip back into the bowl, and return it to the baking sheet.
- Immediately add sprinkles while the coating is wet.
- Refrigerate the Oreo balls for 20 minutes, until the coating is set.
Notes
For smooth dipping, make sure the centers are firm before coating them. Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 2 months. For a dairy-free variation, use dairy-free cream cheese and dairy-free candy coating.
