Ingredients

For the salmon
  • 1.5 lb salmon fillet cut into 4 portions
  • 0.5 tsp kosher salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
For the garlic butter
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp parsley chopped fresh

Equipment

  • 1 9x13-inch baking dish

Method

Prepare the salmon
  1. Heat the oven to 400°F and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Arrange the salmon portions in the dish and season them with the salt and pepper.
Make the garlic butter and bake
  1. Melt the butter, stir in the garlic, lemon juice, and parsley, then spoon the mixture evenly over the salmon.
  2. Bake for 12–15 minutes, until the salmon flakes easily and registers 145°F at its thickest part.
  3. Rest the salmon for 3 minutes before serving.

Notes

For the best texture, check the salmon at its thickest part and remove it when it registers 145°F. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days; freeze for up to 2 months. For a dairy-free option, use plant-based butter.
